Henry Leclere, arpenteur royal à Hestroff

Fils de Gilles et Marie COLLIGNON, né vers 1715, Henry LECLERE se marie le 23 février 1745 à Hestroff avec Jeanton ou Joanne KOUNE de Boulay. Il n'est pas encore domicilé à Hestroff car de ce mariage Baudoin ALGNON, vicaire, en l'absence de Jean Antoine MULLER, curé de la paroisse de Hestroff, écrit : "lequel n'ayant pas d'habitation fixe et stable par rapport des travaux du Roy dans lesquels il a été occupé depuis quelques années de mesme que son père qui a été absent du païs depuis trois ans environs et n'est revenu que quelques jours avant la promesse de mariage de son dit fils à laquelle .... il a assisté et consenti... a demeuré deux mois environs chez Mr Eschel, curé de Wolstroff d'une part, et de Jeanne Koun, veuve du feu Noël Cordonnier de cette paroisse d'autre part.

De cette union naissent sept enfants : Jean Baptiste, Jean-Georges, Jean-Antoine, Marie-Joseph, Anne Magdeleine, Henri-Nicolas et Marie-Jeanne.

Lors d'un acte, Henry est cité arpenteur de la gruerie de Bouzonville. Des registres paroissiaux de Hestroff il apparaît également que Henry Leclere était parrain de Henry van der NOOT ou VANDERNOTTE le 2 janvier 1748 et de Marie-Catherine CORDONNIER le 14 mai 1751.

Par ailleurs, dans des livres anciens nous avons pu noter que Henry Leclerc, arpenteur royal au département de la maîtrise des eaux-et-forêts de Bouzonville, a réalisé une carte topographique du canton nommé Rengen à Hestroff - 4 E 594 -

Nous retrouvons aussi Henry Leclerc lors d'un Plan, profile et élévation de la rédification d'une ancienne chapelle au village de Welving, paroisse de Walmunster 1762 29 J 82

Dans le catalogue général des cartes, plans et dessins d'architecte - Moselle Forêts et bois - nous avons également relevé sa présence en 1778 dans le contexte d'une indivision concernant le bois de Hestroff « PLAN DES BOIS APPARTENANT À MADAME LA COMTESSE DOUAIRIÈRE DE SCHOISEUL, PAR INDIVIS D'AVEC MADAME LA BARONNE DOUAIRIÈRE DE SCHMIDBOURG » pour laquelle il a tracé des plans relatifs à :

- « A. Plan d'un bois appelé Schirling situé sur le ban d'Esting ». [Cne de Hestroff].
- « B. Plan du bois appellé Grine scitué sur le ban d'Esting ».
- « C. Plan du bois appellé Veisenacker d'en Bas, sur le ban d'Esting ».

Henry LECLERE décède le mardi 29 avril 1783 à Hestroff. Jean Antoine MULLER, le curé de la paroisse, l'inhumera le lendemain au cimetière de Hestroff en présence de ses frères Jean-François, maître chirurgien à Cattenom, Nicolas, maître chirurgien à Guénange, Nicolas CORDONNIER, arpenteur de la prévôté de Boulay et Mathias KIEN, maire foncier de Villers, garde-forestier et gendre du défunt. Il est dit notamment que Henry est décédé vers les cinq heures et demi...non du Saint viatic à cause d'une faiblesse survenue dans le moment et dans lequel il est expiré ...agé de soixante huit ans ...

Abjuration de Catherine WEIS à Hestroff en 1773

L'abjuration de Catherine VEIS en 1773, orpheline de père et de mère, originaire de la Principauté des Deux-Ponts (aujourd'hui Zweibrucken dans le Palatinat), ne nous apprend rien sur son ascendance. Tout au plus, pouvons-nous noter qu'ont assisté à cette abjuration François Ignace d'AURICOUR, écuyer, représentant Charles Henry, Baron de HAUTER, seigneur en partie de Reling, capitaine du régiment royal de Deux-Ponts, chevalier de l'ordre militaire de Saint-Louis.

Ont signé l'acte les Sieurs Jean HOMBOURGER et Jean HACKSPILL, diacre.

Les GELMINGER ou GUELMINGER à Hestroff après 1700

Nous connaissons au moins 3 fils de Nicolas GELMINGER, cité tisserand à Piblange avant 1700, et Barbe ANTOINE ou ANTHOINE.

Les origines des Gelminger ou Guelminger, autre graphie, sont bien entendu à rechercher du côté du Gomelange qui se dit encore aujourd'hui Gelmingen en francique mosellan.

Deux fils de Nicolas se sont mariés à Hestroff : Noël et Adam avec les soeurs CORDONNIER, filles de Jean et Elisabeth BRETTNACHER ou BRETNACHER.

Adam, maître tisserand originaire de Drogny, fut échevin de Haute Justice à Hestroff vers 1720.

Pas d'ancêtre Gelminger dans l'arbre généalogique des familles contemporaines de Hestroff. Par ailleurs, rien que 4 Gelminger et 5 Guelminger abonnés au tél. dans l'hexagone.

Descendance de GELMINGER Michel, hussard au 8e régiment. Pendant la campagne de l'armée du Rhin en 1800, il mérita un mousqueton d'honneur qui lui fut décerné le 28 fructidor an X. Dans une charge de cavalerie, il s'était précipité au milieu de la mêlée et était parvenu à enlever un étendard à l'ennemi. Retraité en 1804. Électeur de l'arrondissement de Thionvile. Les HESLING à Hestroff après 1700

Les HESLING sont légion à Bockange-Drogny-Piblange. Certains se sont fixés à Hestroff à l'instar de Jean x Elisabeth CORDONNIER.

Jean Hesling, cité à Hestroff, négociant, laboureur en 1767 puis échevin synodal en 1770, n'eut que 3 enfants.

Jean-Mathias, ordonné prêtre le 20 mars 1790. Le 3 janvier 1791, il est admistrateur de la paroisse de Chesny. Il refuse le serment et se retire à Hestroff.
En septembre 1792, il émigre en Allemagne. Le 9 août 1802, il déclare à Francfort vouloir rentrer en France. Le 18 mars 1803, il est amnistié. Le 30 janvier 1807, il dessert Burtoncourt. Le 30 septembre 1817, il sera curé et archiprêtre de Vigy. Le 22 février 1820, il est nommé archiprêtre à Thionville où il décède le 5 juillet 1827. (Source : Alfred LOUIS).
Jean-Baptiste, Xavier, capitaine, chevalier de la légion d'honneur, maire de Hestroff de 1807 à 1829. Son 1er mariage eut lieu à Grenoble. Jean-Baptiste entra dans l'armée à 19 ans. Canonnier au 4e Régiment d'artillerie à pied le 26 avril 1786. Il fit campagne dans les armées des Alpes, 1792-1793, d'Italie de l'an 2 à l'an 5, des Alpes Ouest et d'Italie de l'an 6 à l'an 9, dans l'armée des Côtes, Boulogne, ans 12 et 13, dans la grande armée sous les ordres de Sa Majesté Napoléon, empereur et roi, an 14 et 1807 dans l'armée d'Allemagne et d'Espagne de 1809 à 1810. Capitaine de première classe, blessé à Arcole, il se retire de l'armée. Par décret du 18 janvier 1811, il lui est alloué une solde de retraite de 800 francs pour ses services et ses blessures. Marie-Jeanne, épouse FISENé, quitte le village après y avoir donné naissance à une petite Anne-Marie le 30 septembre 1796.

Ces 3 Hesling n'ont laissé aucune descendance sur Hestroff. C'est à leur tonton Mathieu ou Mathias que nous devons la présence de certains descendants dont les familles HACKSPILL Jean-Pierre et son neveu MAGAR, HUMBERT-NADé et les LEMMERY.

Mention spéciale pour François Richard Alexis HESLING, né à Hestroff le 10 octobre 1834, chevalier de la Légion d'honneur, dont nous n'avons plus de traces sur Hestroff.

Les OSBILD à Hestroff après 1700

Mathieu ou Mathias ou Mathis OSBILD ou HOSPIL est né à la fin du 17e probablement à Creutzwald où son père fut cité maître tisserand.
Math., tisserand comme son père, épousa en 1713, Catherine LIZER, descendante tyrolienne. Le couple eut 10 enfants.

Le patronyme n'a pas été pérennisé et s'est éteint rapidement avec soit les décès prématurés et/ou le départ des garçons.

Les familles descendant de Math. OSBILD et résidant à Hestroff sont certains DEPENWEILLER, les GOBY, certains HACKSPILL, certains KLEIN, les SCHILTZ.

Les BOUZONVILLE ou BOUSENDORF ou BOUSENDORFFER à Hestroff après 1700

Pierre Barthole ou Bartholomé ou Barthélémy BOUSENDORFFER ou BUSENDORFER, né à Gomelange en 1731 vint s'installer à Hestroff où il épousa Elisabeth TRITZ, dont 7 enfants. Veuf d'Elisabeth, Pierre se remarie avec Marguerite WAX ou WACHS, dont 2 enfants.

Ce patronyme, dérivé du toponyme Bouzonville, est en voie de disparition. Petit excercice avec notre moteur de recherches préféré : 31 abonnés au tél. fixe pour Bouzonville, 3 pour Bousonville, 19 pour Bouzendorffer et 2 pour Bouzendorf.

La graphie trouvée au 18e à Hestroff n'est plus d'actualité, du moins pour ce qui concerne les abonnés au tél. acceptant de figurer dans l'annuaire téléphonique.

Par ailleurs, la graphie BOUZONVILLE, qui ne fut pas pérennisée non plus sur Hestroff, y était néanmoins présente avec la naissance de Jean-Pierre et Marie, enfants de Nicolas x Marguerite MICQUE ou MICK (voir Gomelange).

Les HOMBOURGER à Hestroff après 1700

Hestroff n'est que le point de chute de Jean Simon HOMBOURGER, où il est cité maître huilier de 1740 à 1749, échevin d'église et maire du village avant 1779.

Pour ceux qui s'intéressent à ce patronyme, vaut mieux chercher du côté d'Ebersviller, Hobling, Dalstein, Menskirsch, aux confins du pays des Trois Frontières et du pays de Nied.

Jean Simon Hombourger est né à Hobling en 1720. Veuf de Suzanne HOFFMANN de Bettange, il épouse en 2e noce Barbe BERWEILLER ou BERWILLER à Hestroff en 1747. De cette union naquirent 8 enfants dont Jean-François et Jean-Pierre.

Jean-François Hombourger, prêtre à Marange en 1774 puis à Hettange-Grande, prête serment avec restriction en 1791.

Jean-Pierre Hombourger, huilier en 1779, admodiateur des dîmes de l'abbaye Saint-Pierre de Metz et maire de Hestroff en 1792, fut dénoncé le 27 décembre 1791 pour démarche fanatique et anticonstitutionnelle et pour son soutien aux prêtres réfractaires. Il fut suspendu le 19 janvier 1792 et condamné le 10 février 1792 par la justice de paix de Bouzonville à 24 heures de prison et 10 livres d'amendes et à faire imprimer 6 affiches du jugement (source Alfred LOUIS). Il sera à nouveau maire en 1806 et en 1807.

Les MAILLARD à Hestroff après 1700

Pierre MAILLARD, né vers 1695, est attesté maître meunier à Hestroff en 1726, puis demeurer en haut en 1745... De son union avec Catherine LAPICIDA naquirent 6 enfants dont au moins 4 à Hestroff pour lesquels il ira chercher parrain et marraine à Burtoncourt et à Vaudoncourt. Sur Hestroff, où il n'a pas l'air de beaucoup copiner, il se rabat sur la fille de l'instituteur en place et sur Nicolas BOULANGER ou FERINGER, origines ?, maréchal ferrant et échevin d'église.

Nous ne savons pas grand-chose sur sa descendance si ce n'est qu'une de ses filles, Angélique, épousa Jodocus ou Jost SCHNEIDER, meunier à Edling.

Serait-il par conséquent, l'ancêtre de la puissante famille Schneider qui possédait le
moulin d'Edling et de certains membres de cette famille venus s'installer à Hestroff ?

Plus proche de nous, François Hyppolite MAILLARD, aubergiste, marié à Marie NELSIUS, né à Hestroff le 5 avril 1882 et y décédé le 5 février 1966, n'a laissé aucune descendance sur Hestroff. Ni sa soeur Anna, épouse Louis HACKSPILL, ni Marie, épouse JAGER, décédée à Bouzonville en 1971, ni son frère Nicolas, qui épousa une BRETBEIL en 1926 et décéda à Hestroff en 1961.

Nous n'avons pas été en mesure non plus de rattacher nos Maillard au sanguinaire capitaine héponyme, héros de Sierck-les-Bains, qui y arracha aux Français en 1635, pour un temps, le château des ducs de Lorraine. Boulay fait honneur aussi à ce "brave" capitaine qui, après avoir copieusement rançonné les Boulageois, capitula devant le Prince de Condé, et ses soldats tous pendus ou étranglés.

PS : Un commentaire tout à fait opportun nous a permis de corriger une donnée. Il s'agit en effet de Christian ou Noël MAILLARD, né le 11 novembre 1728 à Hestroff et y décédé le 18 décembre 1845, dont le parrain fut Christian ou Noël CORDONNIER, maître tailleur, cabaretier, échevin de justice en 1724, échevin synodal. Ce Christian ou Noël Cordonnier fut également maire de Hestroff avant 1726.

Les GUIRE ou GUIR à Hestroff après 1700

Les GUIRE ou GUIR, qu'on retrouve à Boulay et environs immédiats, se sont installés à Hestroff à partir de 1751. Ils se sont unis aux descendants des premiers colons originaires du Tyrol.
Ce patronyme n'a pas été pérennisé sur Hestroff.
Les descendants en sont les familles Hackspill-Magar ayant quitté le village il y a plus de 30 ans.

Rappelons tout de même que la Demoiselle Jeanne GUIRE, mère de Jean Antoine MÜLLER, curé à HESTROFF de 1741 à 1788, décéda à Hestroff le 3 avril 1759 mais "son corps selon sa dernière volonté fut mené le lendemain à Boulay où il est inhumé au long de son mari mon père dans l'église...(en foi de quoy j'ai signé avec mon frère Me Ferdinand Ernest Müller avoué et notaire royal au baillage royal de Boulay)". Son époux Nicolas était meunier, boulanger, aubergiste et receveur et conseiller de l'hôtel de ville de Boulay.

Jean Antoine Müller, après 47 ans de bons et loyaux serverces, inhumé sur le cimetière de Hestroff devant la Croix de la Mission, avait notamment eu l'honneur de réceptionner les reliques que le Vatican offrit à la paroisse en 1771 et les orgues offertes en 1773 par Sieur Mathis ROBERT de HESSELN, géographe de Louis XV, auteur du Dictionnaire Universel de la France.

Les BASSOMPIERRE à Hestroff après 1700

Le nom BASSOMPIERRE présent à Hestroff dès 1767, date du mariage de Pierre Bassompierre et Elisabeth HACKSPILL, illustre bien les nombreux échanges qu'il y eut avec la paroisse voisine de Drogny.

Parallèlement, nous y retrouvons aussi son frère Jacob ou Jacques, époux de Marie HOMBOURGER, meunier au moulin domanial ou moulin du Roy de 1777 à 1788, autrement dit la Geissenmillen ou Moulin des Chèvres.

Pierre et Jacob sont fils du couple Pierre Bassompierre x Marie-Barbe WAL, tous deux de Piblange.

Ce nom, dont l'origine exacte nous échappe encore, a disparu de l'état-civil de Hestroff à la fin du 20e.

Sur Hestroff, les familles descendant de Pierre et Jacob, sont les HACKSPILL-MAGAR-HUMBERT-NADé, les LEMMERY, les KETZINGER & FRIDRICI, les SCHNEIDER-CASARA via les BLIMER d'Anzeling.

Quant à Joséphine Bassompierre, la dernière de ce nom à Hestroff, mère des GOBY, elle est issue des Bassompierre de Luttange et d'Altroff. Avec elle, ce patronyme s'est définitivement éteint à Hestroff en 1982.
